Where It Started
We’ve all been told to work hard and play hard. And while that won’t stop, we wanted to add something else to the mix: Rest hard and Recover hard.
We grew up in South Africa with nature right on our doorstep. Weekend hikes. Beach days. Waterfall missions and camping with mates. Nature was just a natural part of life.
Five years ago, we moved to London. And the hustle and bustle hit us hard.
Fast paced startups and long hours in a city that never really slows down.
1 hour Gym session before work. 10-12 hours at your desk. Post-work pints. Slapdash dinner. Doomscroll. Crash. Alarm clock. On the train. Go again.
Weekends? They weren’t downtime. They were two-day benders. And if we’re honest, we felt it.
What If It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way?
What if we took some time to intentionally slow down? What if we gave ourselves a moment of calm? Time to reflect, reset, and actually care for our wellbeing.
Saturday or Sunday spent in nature instead of at the pub. The weekend hangover swapped for a clear head. Time to wind down in the evenings, properly.
It is possible to have a chilled one. To feel fresh the next day. To show up for your life instead of recovering from it.
Men’s mental health has been declining for years. Suicide rates in the UK are at an all-time high and the loop we’re stuck in is making things worse.
It’s time to shift.
Why We Built Wyld Fire
We created Wyld Fire to help men to not be afraid of self-care.
To make mindful choices. Build better habits.
And feel stronger, inside and out.
We know what works:
- Exercise clears the head
- Nature calms the nervous system
- Community motivates you to break the cycle
At Wyld Fire, we slow down to show up better. We move. We eat well. We rest properly. We talk. We check in. We get outdoors.
We’re building a space where other men feel comfortable to do the same. A movement. A new kind of ritual.
We’re developing natural products to support your routine, and we’re organising outdoor community events to connect with nature.
We’re inviting men to look after themselves, unapologetically.
If you’re reading this, chances are some of this resonates so Come join the Wyld Fire revolution.
